AWQAF SA YOUTH IFTAAR PROJECT.
In its 8th year of operation, over 100 Youth joined in the Awqaf SA Youth Iftaar Programme. Over 2000 Iftaar Meal Packs were prepared and packed by the Youth this year. It is significant to note that this year’s Youth Iftaar Programme coincided with June 16, South Africa’s Youth Day in which the entire country celebrates the contributions made by youth in the struggle for the liberation of our country.
The programme is coordinated entirely by youth ranging from the ages of 3 to 20 years old. The youth who are currently coordinating the project started off as young children and today they have assumed the responsibility of the entire programme.
Distribution takes place on Saturday 18 June 2016 and a programme of interaction will take place between the youth of various communities. The programme aims to develop further interactive programmes like inter communal sports tournaments and other projects that will foster social cohesion amongst our communities.
