Awqaf SA and Pakistan based Indus Earth signed a (MOU) Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation 28 May 2013. In terms of the MOU, the two organisations have undertaken to coopertae and collaborate on common projects. Indus Earth will have a structure in South Africa and will initially focus on developing safe solar lighting for poor households, the move towards providing low cost housing technologies and water and sanitation projects.
Br Shahid Khan, CEO of Indus Earth together with Br Faizal Mohamed (trustee of Awqaf SA) signed the MOU in the presence of Awqaf SA Management Board and Trustees.
Both orghanisations are committed to self reliance and the provision of skills. And both expressed interest in the Awqaf SA Marlboro South project.
